RE-ELECT
MARIA CERVANIA
WAKE COUNTY COMMISSIONER DISTRICT 3
Maria’s Priorities
COVID-19 RELIEF
As a trained Epidemiologist and Biostatistician, Maria worked in planning and management during health emergencies and pandemics. During this unprecedented public health crisis, we must elect representatives who will continue to fight COVID-19. Maria has this experience and commitment to Wake County's response to make sure we are all protected.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Together with the municipalities, Wake County needs to implement the Comprehensive Community Master Plan proactively and collaboratively. Maria wants to act on Wake County’s goals for affordable housing and diverse housing availability, make cohesive planning and zoning decisions and used public money effectively.
PUBLIC EDUCATION
Maria believes in fully funding and supporting Public Education for our students. Maria wants to recruit and retain Wake County educators, administrators, school health professionals, bus drivers, and support staff; invest in Classroom Learning, and commit to the highest educational preparation and experience level.
TRANSPORTATION
To be a global leader, economically prepared for the future, and reach our environmental goals, Maria will work for an integrated transportation system. Ideally, it should be accessed by walking or biking, go to places people work, live or play, and be part of everyday life.
MEET MARIA CERVANIA
Maria Cervania was raised by a military father and an immigrant mother. She graduated from Berkeley and did her graduate work at UIC-Chicago School of Public Health. Since moving to Wake County, Maria has committed if ever in a position to affect change; she wants to be conscientious about how it is done.
